yamaha yzf 750/1000 has come home
firstly the nose cone arrived at keiths damaged
this was fixed and there was much rejoicing
then keith went about converting my seat unit to take a FZR 400 rear light
he also welded my tubes onto the tank these were a snug fit for my
fake hoover pipes
after a few days of rubbing down ( he must have arms like tree trunks )
he had primered all the pieces
then a few more days of flatting and dry sanding then the base coat went on
This is the pic i sent keith as a guide
these are the pics i got today

That is looking seriously sweet!
Wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being featured in one of the classic magazines.

Man oh man that looks seriously sweet!!!
I have the feeling Nasty will have to increase his prices, if only to put off all the requests for paint from the motley crew that reside on this forum!!
Top effort from the pair of you, looking forward to seeing it back together, providing my lot (Royal Mail) dont Fuck it up on the return journey

i've been kept busy decorating getting ready for our new arrival in maybe
4 weeks
i did however pull up the spare room carpet and found a new home for it
and also ttreated myself to a paddock stand - the clothes rail is no longer needed
is all at a bit of a stop just waiting for the bodywork now
bled brakes put in new oil fiddled arround thats it

there are down sides to a carpet in the garage as I found out
My place shares car and bike and machinery so in the winter the car bring all the snow in on the underside and then melts. This makes a right mess and never seems to dry out, hence carpet got scrapped.
Also if you're welding/grinding theres a good chance it'll catch fire
on a plus side, its comfortable to kneel on when working on or cleaning the bike

AKA Bald headed b'stard
Thats the advantage of carpet tiles, you can replace them when you forget and weld inside!!Stig wrote:there are down sides to a carpet in the garage as I found out
