The CDI and fuse box will be enclosed in the seat unit, so should be as well protected by the under tray

But I will probably have to fill the gap between the under tray and battery box with something, or fit a rear hugger, but huggers never look right on Exups.

I take it back, I was thinking about the hugger I bought from M&P for my oid Genesis, might not have been a known make but it had I ribbed effect on it and seemed really bulbous, so it went back.

Cheers Nuggitt, sometimes I think I may be waffling on too much and adding unnecessary detail, but Lisa reckons it keeps me quiet :D
Waffle on as much has you want mate, and I'm a big lover of fine detailing.

Speaking of fine detail how's Lisa doing while you're having a love affair in your garage?? :unibrow:
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

Lisa spends her time watching gossip girl, vampire diaries, Smallville and chick flicks!

She came in the garage bauling her eyes out yesterday, apparently "the time travellers wife" is a real weepy!

I thought someone had died

Right whilst waiting for electrical bits and bobs to arrive I thought I'd remake the "electrical connector shield" again.

The original plastic that I used was rather soft, so I sourced some tougher plastic and set about it again!!

Original plastic source

Image

Tougher source of plastic

Image

God bless Royal Mail :D

Anyhow, guard is now constructed, just need to get some rivets to finish it off.

Image

Isolates the electrics nicely

Image

Image

That done I set about filling the gap mentioned by OldSkool, but needed another supply of plastic as The items I had were spent.

Image

So template made more cutting ensued.

Image

Image

However once fitted (with protective film still intact) It is on thee piss, despite being flush with the battery box, because the support arms for the seat unit protrude different amounts.

Image

Image

It'll be alright once the stickers off I thought.........wrong

Image

So trimmed it level, much happier now

Image

Then Lisa brought a beer out so thats it for today as we all know beer and prototype motorcycle engineering dont mix

Onwards, ever onwards, :D

Got hold of some pop rivets so finished making the electrical shield

Image

Image

Image

Image

should keep the connections drier and cleaner than they were.

This done I set about mounting the Acewell speedo.

unfortunately the standard bracket meant that the speedo would be too upright so it needed adjusting, this required removing it, which in turn meant dismantling the connector blocks.

Image

that done a temporary bracket was made so I only have to bend the decent one once!

Image

Got it set up at an angle that I was happy with and just as I was about to bend the decent bracket I thought I'd better power up the console.

Glad I did as the numbers (LCD display) were not very clear to see
These photos are taken from the riding position view, its not very clear to see but the numbers are dull like when the batteries are running out on your digital wristwatch.

Image

so I adjusted it until they became clearer

Image

The problem with this being that the side view of the speedo went fom this

Image

to this

Image

But after trying a few options of how else it could be mounted

Image

Image

Image

I decided if the headlight was dropped a touch it looked better.

Image

so off came the top yoke to drill and tap it ready for the newly adjusted decent mounting bracket.

Image

Image

Image

Don't look too bad.

Image

Image

thats a little more done, just need to wire it into the rest of the "loom of doom"
