Re: flasher rate
I bought an led relay off ebay to try out, but then saw other universal ones.dangerousdave wrote:
just havin a browz at what your up to with ya fighter mate and i see you are puttin l e d inicators on and flash rate isnt right, sorted mine by new flasher unit from Halfords yes Halfords they have a little motor bike section in there, hope this is some help to you, Dave
The ones from Halfords might not work as they are two pin ones, and the yzf has a three pin flasher relay fitted as standard.
I'll give the one i got a try, if it dont work i'll get another.

any plans for a different set of headlights?
(as i'm DESPERATELY after that headlight fairing you have... lol)
Needs lamps replacing before it's used though
But if i do get rid, i'll let ya know

Finally getting somewhere! Beens my Fz got reversed into
Got the proper yzf front end for it now! Ohlins springs apparently Thanks to Nasty! (cheers matey! ) And extra thanks for the other bits too, i did put a post up saying thanks in Lounge.
Think i owe you a few quid for the extras?
So no more steering stem swap for me!
Got them D208's Jason put the discount up for, so the front ones on.
Done the bluespot conversion for the front brakes (well one to finish yet)
cheers rf9 for the how to! (see main site workshop)
No pictures as yet, but as soon as the fronts ready and a bit of an engine clean and frame polish i'll put some up
Playing on a hired vfr800 at the moment so progress may slow down again

Cheers!
Had a "project" for a few years now, so it's good to finally have a whole bike that should be rideable, without too much work
Shame that kwacka rear aint goin on it for the moment
But i kinda like the yzf single rear too, and might match the rest of the paintwork to that
Just about finished the front brake conversion earlier

Took some pics!
Got more done in the past week than i ever have!
From a bare frame.
Might be because my laptop's been playing up so not sitting on internet all the time
Anyway, took a photo before the engine went in, but it's on my phone
Had a go at polishing the frame
Bit of a bodge, but it'll do for now.
Ground the material away for fitting bluespots.
New front end on, R1 clipons, bodywork fitted, new stem bearings(that was fun ) new front tyre on. different set of headlights, led indy's, acewell in place.
Tried the grinding down front brake pads method, didnt like it so i got some different discs coming! Cheer's creed!
Girlfriend helped getting engine in
Next ones are with the exhaust fitted, and indy's etc, ive fitted an fzr servo which plugged straight into the cdi, and allowed fitting under rear of seat unit. As i wont be needing it for my non existing exup valve!
Fitted braided hose to rear, Fun bleeding the caliper still needs more pressure i think.
I'm pretty damn happy with how it's turning out so far!
Little over a week ago it was just a frame (again) with nowt fitted.
The headset bearings may need tightening some more, the steering lock doesnt line up quite right
Been playing with the electrics, all just about working, the servo sets itself as supposed to
Starter solenoid clicks like mad if you press start button
I'm thinking it's the FZ's battery i'm trying it with.
Maybe not enough cranking power??
Or i may have wired summut wrong, or have i a f**ked solenoid?
Polished up the headers and link pipe today and fitted stainless exhaust studs (homemade)
The ally plate isnt fitted to the rear now (under rear light).
I took the bulky number plate light off and tried blanking it off. But now has rubber grommets in the fixing holes instead.
Tiny led number plate light fitted.
Probably missed loadsa little jobs ive done on her but ya can see from the pics.
Waiting on some parts, and then more progress
Hopefully should have her fired up next weekend.
Thanks to all who have supplied/supplying parts or given advice!

the gold forks look real smart. It'd be nice to be able to get the stantions gold nitrided too...<dribble>
Keep it updated. I love looking at ideas that other folks do but I daren't
Maybe get the stantions done when due a change or summut.
