Urban Assault Vehicle .... My FZR 1000 (RU)

Post by Exupnutta »

Hello all,

http://www.srd-bikes.com/history.html... This was the original bike I bought off a friend. Not exactly like you see it there, but the white frame and wheels etc. had been done and it was a streetfighter.

I then rebuilt it for my company http://www.srd-bikes.com

It's 99% finished. You may notice a few details missing :paranoid:

I was thinking about selling it, but considering the current market, I MAY be tempted to ride it afterall.

IT'S BRAND NEW, every nut and bolt and bearing. The engine is blueprinted with gas flowed head & stage 3 Carbs and it has a 1/4 turn throttle + a few other little tweaks

The bike is now 7', yes, 2.1m long from the tips of the tyres

Do you recognise any of the parts used? :unibrow:

It actually has different bars on it now and BREMBO master cylinders :D

Oh... almost forgot... at night it looks like THIS http://www.srd-bikes.com/meamachine_Lrg.html

Hope you like it :D

apness wrote:Not sure where the MOT man would start with that, plus you might get interested coppers poking about and rubbiong their hands :) Looks like a nice machine though. As you say, current climate not good and bikes only worth what someone will pay, unfortunately this is usually less than what you sunk into it :(

My advice - enjoy it :)

Probably next year... I gave up on summer sometime in June and aside from this weekend where we are forecast sun, i reckon rain and wind is the best we can hope for :(
You are right on all counts....

You need an MOT? They wouldn't have a sheet big enough

Seriously though... that exhaust with stage 3 carbs (K&Ns directly on the carbs) sounds feckin awesome... best description is an 80s/90s F1 car  especially the volume  :finger:

Will try and find a way to upload the demo run in the garage :unibrow:

don't look as if it will ne a lot for a mot
indicators
rear red reflector
little bigger number plate
chain gaurd
someting the make the exhaust muffled e.g a srtip of all to with a pipe bit on to cover the end whilst in the mot

as long as you have a rear light it will go through mine did even tho was only ment to have daylight mot but he gave me a full on :paranoid:

Just so tempting now..... :unibrow: Even though I vowed not to ride again  ... LONG story

I know what it needs. :paranoid: I even have the std EXUP dustbin can

The registration is the bigger issue.. :ninja: kept the forks and engine... used an earlier frame and a ???? back end (edited to keep you guessing ;) )

just had a thought
i remember when my m8 changed a LOT of things on his bike like a 600 engine in a 400 frame and a vfr swinger they wanted him to Q plate it
not sure why or what they will say to your as it's def, not standard lol

i am sure there is someone on here with a better knolage on this than me

and about 2h trying to tell the insurace people what you have changed on the bike,

bloke i spoke to didn't have a clue when i said i made it into a naked bike and a stubby can i nearly wet my self at his dumbness (any how thats anouter topic lol)
