Improving looks.

Post by Yoda »

After looking at several exceptional machines on this web site, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good painter or spray shop to repaint my bike? Also how much aggro is it to get someone to weld a top brace section to my swing arm. I fancy a similar look to the YZF750 one but don't know if I want to go to the effort of a conversion. Welding a bit of alloy on and then powder coating whole thing seems easier than trying to source parts and then get to fit.

Scratch the swing arm. Conversion might be easier. Torque arm and rear brake would have to be moved. Might be easier just to have it powder coated. :(

Will I have to use the 750 rear wheel. A guy on ebay is breaking a YZF750 and I thought about it after seeing the street fighter posted the other night. Was originally just gonna do swing arm because someones paddock stand had scratched it. But you know how it is when you start changing something then everything gets done.

Damn that will teach me to wait for posts to fully open out. Scratch previous reply because I got my wires crossed. Yeah have visited Metmachex and JMC's web sites. Very nice stuff! :) But I think wife will have something to say if I have a new paint job as well. :(

Only bike she's ever really found comfortable to go pillion on that I've owned for any real distance. Likes bike, just doesn't like speeds I get up to when solo riding. God these things are sooo easy to ride fast. I treat mine like an oversize 125 sometimes. But the bike always lets me know when to calm down, power slides anyone?

Hmmm, I've heard mixed reports about Dream Machine... some folk rave about them, others wouldn't give them house room: panels returned 3 times before the work was satisfactory, shrinking lacquer, that sort of thing. One guy even got his RD350LC panels back and found someone had doodled on the reverse side with a soldering iron!

There again, they do still do outstanding work as seen in magazines etc, it just seems to be more variable than it used to be. Resting on their laurels a bit? I dunno. There's loads of sprayers in the Resources section on the main site, plus our very own Wakwak so you're hardly spoiled for choice.
