Just got to change the oil filter housing, water jacket and a few little bits tommorrow.
Deja Vu
Brakes??? I thought thats what pedestrians were for!
Engines finally in, all the bits have been changed over, just waiting for the neighbours to bugger off to work then i can see if she starts and runs ok.
Fingers crossed.......................
Sounds lovely, no smoke, no rattles, in fact it sounds a lot better than the original engine.
Just got to run it up to temp a couple of times, then change the oil and filter, flush out the coolant, refill it with nice new coolant, then out for a slow, leisurely ride this afternoon.
Well Chaps, original engine re-fitted, clutch return spring replaced, a few new gaskets here and there, exup valve stripped and regreased, a few wires resoldered, a couple of water hoses replaced, new oil and filter, just got to fit the carbs and hopefully get it fired up.
looks like it's going to be a good un , i know the potential of engine swaps i'm in the process of selling off my gsxr7/11 for parts.......only 1 thing though PAINT THE BLOODY ENGINE it's a pity to have a nice looking bike only to have a scabby looking motor , i've found PJ1 gives the best results and is a doddle to apply and is very hard wearing and if applied correctly can withstand petrol, brake fluid and most other things that other engine paint cant cope with.
