none of that Heath Robinson stuff for the Monkey
Proper job: Garmin Quest GPS fitted on me R1 with RAM mount
[looks like it obscures the speedo in the pic but it doesn't when you're sat on the bike]
GPS on the bike is definitely the way to go - it's fookin brilliant. I got the Quest from Halfrauds last year and the RAM mounting bits from http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/ and http://www.gpsw.co.uk/index.html

Wow Monkey couldnt realy ask for a more indepth reply than that
Quest it is then - I borrow my mates go atm and have a pile of crap for Ipaq that works when it wants - and not at all since I upgraded to tomtom v6
Im in Bedford & regularly work in Luton so a meet for a pint and a natter would be quite nice

hope it helps you make the right decision. Ultimately I'm sure whichever you buy you won't be disappointed, either is a massive improvement over a map in a tankbag
I live in St Albans but work @ Luton Airport, & have a couple of mates in Bedford too so I'm up that way from time to time...
pint sounds good.. you have PM

I was looking in Halfrauds today for a unit that I could use in the car and also on the bike. They told me that the Tomtom Rider has been discontinued because of a reliability problem...apparently the mounting bracket is sh*t and has broken on most of them. He also told me that there are some units that dont require any wiring at all, all you do is charge it like a mobile phone. You dont even have to mount it on the bike...you can put it in a pocket and use it with a bluetooth earpiece. After this he started to fix his hair in the mirror and touch his spots so I left rapidly.
If anyone has some updated info on this can they help please...cos I tend to get lost any time I leave my street
