Wife's nicked camera so will do later.

Note that the bracket's a Heath Robinson affair but it's hidden by the screen so I don't really care.
Converted to pedal power. Now skinny as fook.

Here ya go Neo:

Bracket (red stuff on ball is red Hematite to stop the unit rotating down the ball due to vibration). This is just a temporary bracket... Honest  :

Proper job: Garmin Quest GPS fitted on me R1 with RAM mount
[looks like it obscures the speedo in the pic but it doesn't when you're sat on the bike]

GPS on the bike is definitely the way to go - it's fookin brilliant. I got the Quest from Halfrauds last year and the RAM mounting bits from http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/ and http://www.gpsw.co.uk/index.html

handy GPS fitting tips at http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/customer-gallery.htm

No worries, sorry I probably went into too much detail :retard:

hope it helps you make the right decision. Ultimately I'm sure whichever you buy you won't be disappointed, either is a massive improvement over a map in a tankbag

I live in St Albans but work @ Luton Airport, & have a couple of mates in Bedford too so I'm up that way from time to time...

pint sounds good.. you have PM

I was looking in Halfrauds today for a unit that I could use in the car and also on the bike. They told me that the Tomtom Rider has been discontinued because of a reliability problem...apparently the mounting bracket is sh*t and has broken on most of them. He also told me that there are some units that dont require any wiring at all, all you do is charge it like a mobile phone. You dont even have to mount it on the bike...you can put it in a pocket and use it with a bluetooth earpiece. After this he started to fix his hair in the mirror and touch his spots so I left rapidly.
If anyone has some updated info on this can they help please...cos I tend to get lost any time I leave my street :D

How did you manage to get to Halfords and back?
Did a big boy show you the way?
Or were you not planning on going to Halfords , but when you got lost there just happened to be a Halfords next to you?
