Well, spent all afternoon in the garage removing the shock and dogbones to replace everything with a standard YZF750 shock, linkage and dogbones.
What a waste of time, the bike still leans way too far over on the sidestand, so it must be the sidestand bent. :(
And the standard shock i bought is shagged , you can hear the air coming out and see the oil on the damper after bouncing it up and down, although it looked ok before fitting it.
Probably going to re-fit the Ace shock with the standard bones on and see what happens.

Don't worry about the lean. Just be careful where you park it.
Keep on keepin' on.

Another afternoon spent in the garage.
Removed the shagged original shock i bought, then replaced it with the Ace shock (again). :crybaby:

Still not sorted, i reckon the shagged forks are the culprit. :\

I think you would be better rebuilding and hard chrome replating your forks than trying to get a good set of second hand ones. Every 750 I have had , has serious wear on the front of the stanchions, they seem to wear through the chrome quickly even on 12000-15000 mile bikes. i would hope the aftermarket chrome would be harder wearing. Oh f**k it get some Ohlins R+T forks :unibrow: :unibrow:

I just ordered some new seals, going to have a go at replacing them, then get them rechromed or new stanchions later on in the year if i decide to keep it. :unibrow:

After messing around trying to fit several shocks, most of them knackered, i`ve finally decided to send one off to get rebuilt.
I`m fed up taking the bike to bits to fit/remove the shock. :(
Its gone off to DPS Racing in West Yorkshire, so i`ll let you know if they`re any good. :D
