The Ultimate Exup. . .

Post by Arcanum »

You may have seen the posts I've put up in the Workshop referring to the FZ1000 and the very gracious help I've received on that matter from Steve Kendrick at K2 Motorcycles.
Well, in his last correspondence he thought you might be interested in this wee tasty bit of kit. . . May I suggest you sit down before reading and looking. Si, have some soft cushions ready for when you pass out mate.

Check this out. . .

If you think folk would be interested, I have attached a picture of my
latest baby which was finished about 2 weeks ago, just in time for
winter....
It's a '99 R1 frame, headstock cut off and rejigged with 1.5 degrees steeper
fork angle and gussetted all round by Spondon. Frame anodising removed and
all powdercoated satin black. Ohlins R/T forks reworked by Maxton. Promach
billet yokes (supposedly ex David Jefferies) Ohlins steering damper. Ohlins
rear shock with remote preload reworked by KAIS. '03 swingarm and wheel.
Wavy discs (YZ426 rear). '03 calipers. Rhencullen R7 carbon body kit with R7
genuine headlamp. Miles Carter Concepts KR paint job. Tank jacked up for
airflow. Renthal sprockets. Rennsports. Micron Serpent downpipes with
Ultralight titanium can. Robby Moto rearsets. Tony Scott
balanced/blueprinted/flowed motor rebuilt/freshened by Russ Unwin (our
Service Manager). K2 SOT private plate. It's taken 18 months to finish (one
bolt a week...) and seems fine so far, not too nervous and although I
haven't yet given it a panning the motor feels strong.
All the best, Steve Kendrick.

K2 is my local dealer and this is not Steves only toy, :crybaby: he is also a very nice , and knowledgeable, bloke to spend an hour (or two, or three) chatting to  . Actually I am starting to hate him myself.
Russ (service manager/chief muckanic) is also a good alround guy (GOD I hate them all soooo much). Not quite sure about the size of their nobs though  .
If your stuck with anything give them a ring (01782415768) they also do mail order. End of ad.
