Well Chaps, after a couple of weekends "experimenting" with the airbox, i had it plastic welded.
Cut out 750 airbox bottom and had it welded into the Ace airbox.
Just needs a tidying then hopefully all is well.

The two rear corners have been profiled to allow the tank to fit correctly.

YOU GOT THE AIR INTAKE THE WRONG WAY MATE.

SHE WILL ONLY REV TO 9000RPM WHEN LOADED.
TURN IT AND DUMP THE FILTER. IT THE ONLY WAY U CAN GET IT TO SUCK AIR IN, AS IT SEATS SO CLOSE UNDER THE TANK.

I HAD THUNDERACE CARBS WITH THAT AIRBOX. 125BHP?

Thanks Chaps.
Steve, i have been told that not using airfilter will burn out the valves?
I`m leaving it in for now as i wont be riding it for a while, i`ll probably get it on a rolling road before next summer and see whats what.

The problem is. getting the air in under the tank.

Tell me how u get on. there should be a problem turning it and running a air filter as well. i like to run um with out filters when tuning them. but i only use my one as a fun bike. My yzf750 runs a air filter as it a all year round bike.
I made the risk of using open trumpets which have caught me out twice, suck in a little bit of crap and it jam a float up. so its petrol over your leg again.lol

I`ll turn the air intake around and see how it goes.
Might look into making up some air scoops that go directly into airbox or something.

The R1 airbox opening faces backwards , doesn't seem to cause any problems.

But this 1000cc air box is running under, a tight yzf750r tank. its 30mm higher than a stock 750cc airbox.

Its very tight under the R1's tank too, I dont think I can get my hand between the two.
It would be very nice to be able to convert it to ramair but that would take some work to acheive that !!.

I have been thinking about fitting an Ace tank.
I have one kicking around, just needs some work on the rear mount to fit it, doesnt look too bad on the bike, though would have to alter the loom to wire it in.
