Afternoon guys.
Right, changed the oil filter on my 1990 EXUP. Got sent a screw on filter at first which I haven’t used as bought a new cartridge type filter from Fowlers to fit inside the oem filter housing.
My problem is, I fitted new spring and oil ring and tightened it all up to the correct torque setting.
Filled it with fresh oil (3ltrs) and then started it up. Within seconds the oil was pissing out of the oil filter.
Removed everything again and checked that the spring and washer were in tact and all looked good.
Can anyone give me an idea of what I did wrong.
Sorry if this is a basic question but its been pissing me off for the last 3 hours

Re: Oil filter
Scratch that. Found out why.
Stupidly didn’t notice the notch on the crankcase where the fin on the oil filter fitted between.
Rookie error and sorted quickly…..

Re: Oil filter
I was just about ask if you’d done that?

Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
