In my other hobby/pastime we always say its not what it looks like but how well it performs and how comfortable it is.
When you are putting your own safety in any peice of equipment you have to have confidence in it.
Sometimes the latest thing although you want it, when you try it on for size/fit/comfort ,it just isnt what you want anymore.
I had this a few years ago with bike kit , I went to get a pair of Sidi boots and when I put them on I could hardly walk in them due to them being very tight even though I tried various sizes they were just not comfortable so didnt buy them

never been up there, all them lochs filled with jocks (dont start I am a 2nd generation Kiwi), and minus 200 to boot. The Pacific's the place, warm, clear and nothing deeper than 15 metres.
