The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

can the oil pressure switch be operated without the relays,or are the relays critical to the operation of the engine..

ive got a bit of a mess going on with the wires going from the main loom to the headlight ,the bike isnt standard regarding the looks ,no fairing no clocks ,i have all the other idiot lights working except the oil ,i can see through the wiring diagram where the wires are and follow them but buggerd if i can get the oil light to work .i know the sender is working up to the first small relay
(4 wires) because it clicks when you disconnect and reconnect.ive traced the black/red wires through the loom and other relay to no avail ,so was just wondering if the relays could be bypassed
cheers

Oil light

Post by creedxup »

The oil level switch (item 50) is wired (black/red) to the main relay (item 50) 10 wires, the 4 wire relay is the headlight one.

your wiring diagram differs from mine chris what year does that one cover,
i have a oil indicator level light relay going to the main relay (10 wires)so in essence i have the oil level switch feeding the oil level light relay going to the 10 wired relay then that goes to the other side of the lightbulb.

dont know how to post photos ,that would make life easier lol

RocketRobbo.

PM sent.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
