Another back on the road.

Post by Urban Tangleweed »

Hi All,

Been lurking here for a while, some really useful information on this forum that has been a great help.

Bought a '93 EXUP RU back in June, she was in a bit of a sorry state but a bit of fettling and she's turned out good, MOT'd her today, banged some tax on and went out for a spin, wow, forgot how sprightly these things were!

I don't know what "Fettling" means but whatever that means your bike looks better than "Good" it looks absolutely FANTASTIC

I can only hope that mine (below) will look as good as yours with a little more "fettling".

Sincerely,
It's an old British saying Squire, meaning to tune, to tweak, to adjust, to FETTLE. as you guys often say: Wrench. He's done a bit of wrenching on it.

Tasty bike by the way Urban Tangleweed

Fettling is working something mechanical with a metal tool. Whittling is working something wooden with a metal tool.
It is not a good idea to do either when you get that lightbulb moment after 8 pints of beer.
Keep on keepin' on.

I'm impressed by the state as well...

I cannot show pictures of mine for now, I'd be too ashame after looking at yours!

The only thing that works very well for now, is the engine!
