Hi All.
thought i would see if it would start before putting everything back on.
and i put the battery on charge ,it shows 13.5 volts across the terminals.
but absolutely nothing when i turn the key.
no lights not even a glimmer.
checked the fusses all good there.
so jumped from the car and bingo.
started right up.
but when i check across the battery terminals at idle
it shows 16 volt .
this is on the bad battery still waiting on the new one.
is it charging to much because the battery if fucked
or does this point to a regulator issue.
obviously electrix are not my forte.
any help is appreciated.
mark

i though so as well at first, i had seen somewhere a recommended range of 13.8v to 14.8v.
but on page 8-38 or 351 of the service manual however you look you up,
it shows @3000 rpm 14.3v to 15.3v.
this bike is a 89 but i have a 94/95 parts bike i could swap the alternator over from.
is that a big job to do ?.
thanks mark
