Wanted - Fuel pipe from tank to pump.

Post by BONLY1 »

These appear to be no longer available for the FZR1000 89-95.
It's the preformed curved pipe that goes from the tank tap to the filter prior to the pump.
Have already had fuel starvation probs when using an ordinary pipe (it kinks) so what does everyone here use? Any alternatives?

That's the one Stig, mine had split and could I get a new one??? Replacing with ordinary pipe without the 'formed' 'u' bend just causes a kink and fuel starvation.
Not asking you to sell me your spare, you should keep it, you will need it one day.
Have managed to 'bend' mine but it's not a good fix. Need a new idea or a new o/e pipe.
And just in case you reply soon, I may not respond for a week 'cos am off to the Picos mountains tomorrow. Thanks for the quick shout today. Speak more soon.

what about if you custom made something using a multiple of right angled fuel pipe connectors ? it would look a bit frankenstein but would work i think

I'll have a look through my spares bucket tomorrow. I'm sure I saw one of these in there a while back.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
