Hi All , the metal pipe that exits the rear of the gas tank.
is this an overflow or vent tube ?
do i just run a rubber tube down through the swinger?frame gap.?

Do you mean the petrol tank?
It is a breather pipe and yes the rubber tube locates between the swinger and frame.

That's what I thought it was meant for too stig. When I fill up sometimes I get a bit of fluid on the floor through the pipe that fits on the tank.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
