Is the pulley on the headers and is it undamaged?

Yes the pulley is on the exup valve and it looks ok.
Gimme 15 mins and I'll post a photo.

Many thanks. When I bought mine in 2004, the EXUP was seized, so in releasing it, I left the valve ever so slightly twisted, just enough to bind when full open and have never managed to completely sort it. The pulley opens and closes it fine, but it's always a niggle. Cheers.

Thank you Stig, I'll consider that seriously. It's due for MOT in June, so plenty of time before then to disassemble it. When the weather smartens up and stops raining into me shed [due to wind picking up the felt on the roof like a fag paper], I'll mop up and have a go. Should be a few weeks yet, so I'll contact you then. ps. How long would it take to do? Would I need to leave it with? Cheers.

It only takes half hour to true the valve. If the studs are seized and you can't get them out, remove the header without breaking the bolts on the cover plate and bring the lot. I'll get some heat on it to ease the pain. 90% of the time they'll come out whole

Hi Stig, thanks once again. I take the EXUP completely to bits and grease it with gun grease every couple of years, so it should come out ok. The plate which holds it in is sort of held on by two out of the three allen bolts, as its corroded, but it still seems to work. Famous last words...
