black widow downpipes

The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

black widow downpipes

Post by ameliasdaddy »

has anyone bought/tried these out.??????

according to the website, its plug and play as such , to eliminate the valve.

i'm having so much bother with my valve ,i'm thinking about getting some.
as at the mo i've taken the valve out and just blanked it off, which i know is not great for the bike or riding at low revs/speed.

i've got a set of black widow end cans on my zzr1200 and i must say so far so good.(nice quality)
so i was hoping for the same if i got a set of these?

cheers

What's the issue with the valve?

If you have all the bits, I could service it for you if you want to bring it around mine or post it

that is very kind of you mate.whereabouts in the uk are u???

i think possibly it may be bent???(valve)as when i bolt up the cover the valve wont turn.

i do not think i have the spacer that goes on the shaft ,then into the exhaust?? unless its in the exhaust in the hole???(at the back ,if that makes sense?)
i assume the dust/grease seal is inside the exhaust ?
i have tried to remove it, but its either part of the exhaust and i have been wasting my time lol.

or its so old its on solid.

i have the spacer and dust/grease seal for the front.

could you confirm the spacers are different front and back???
as in the haynes manual and on fowlers website they look to be the same???

cheers buddy

I'm in Mansfield about 20 miles north of Nottingham

The valve should be assembled as follows from pulley end

Pulley
Spring
Washer
Face plate
Then valve
Narrow bush (fitted on far shaft first)
Wide push at far end which usually sits in recess in far end of chamber

If you want to just send the whole valve assembly I can true it in the lathe between centres and check it in a set of headers at this end before returning it

Cheers mate !!!!!

I will go down the garage today and pack everything to do with the valve I have and send it up to you πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I think perhaps I have bits missing?
As on mine
It's just:
A Bolt with a washer which screws the pulley onto the valve.once I have it pushed on to the face plate.

I don't have any spring 😩😩😩would that make a difference??
1 x grease dust seal and spacer
Which sit inside the face
Plate.
Nothing for the rear unless
It's all stuck in the exhuast.

Anyhow I ll send what I have
And let you
Do your magic 😊😊😊
I assume with all the faffing
About in it , I've maybe bent it myself???

Send me a pm with your address and bank details
And I will post and pay you for your time/work/ knowledge asap

Cheers
