Chinese exhausts

The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

Post by thunder_taz »

Has anybody got any experience of these cheapo Chinese pipes. I'm thinking of using then on the far pipes I am fitting to my fightered Ace.

On the face of it, at that price, you can't really go wrong, particularly as there appear to have been only positive comments posted. A db killer alone is about half that cost, albeit a round one.

I'm almost tempted myself.

They do look rather good but I'm not a fan of the stubby ones. If they did a longer version I'd give one a try. My alloy can is looking a bit tired now and I could do with treating the old girl to new one.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

Decided to drop some dosh on this one. Not a big fan of fake carbon but I can put up with the tip. I have been advised elsewhere to swap out the packing as the Chinese use cheap shit that burns up quickly.

I have sent them an email asking if the factory who produce them could make some a bit longer. I've had a reply saying they've made a note of it and will ask them.

I was surprised too when they said they didn't make them. It wouldn't be too difficult I'm sure. I mean they did build a very big wall many years ago with basic tools. :D

John. Some of these are advertised as "Generic" silencers with "Genuine" Akropovic sticker :)

I do like micron exhaust cans. I keep looking on fleabay. New ones cost a fortune and the second hand ones are usually bashed about a bit. :crybaby:

Anyone can get a sticker and put it on a can. Anyone with any common sense should be able to spot a fake a mile off. The price, especially if buying new is usually the clue. There are several Chinese silencers that have acrpovic stickers on but to be fair they generally make it clear they are not genuine. I presume to avoid being legally raped they amend the sticker as well.
