Vibration

Post by Enduro_Rider »

Hi all

My bike seems to vibrate around 4500 rpm and doesn't make a nice feeling around 70 mph due to the vibration.

Any ideas where to start or have you heard of this before?

Thanks chaps! :paranoid:

Does it happen when stationary or is it a chassis vibration on the move?

Just checked - it does vibrate when stationary and more obvious when riding. At 60 or 80 its fine. It doesn't feel like wheel balance or tyre pressure.

Maybe engine mounts or exhaust?

I'd check your engine mounting bolts to make sure their all tight.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

You only have to take the side panels off. Easypeasy.

You my be aware of this one. See photo. That lower engine mounting bolt also holds the exhaust down pipes on and it has two nuts.

I have nipped these up today but it's been awful with heavy rain so unable to try it out. I've actually managed to fit my new stainless bones too today :unibrow:

I didn't know this- explains the long engine mounting bolt which I thought had come from something else :D

When I got my bike the exhaust had been repaired (badly) just after the exup valve and had a spacer behind the mounting bracket. I thought it had been put in because of the repair.

Best go and find another nut in the garage tomorrow!
