Blue spots dont fit!

I got a set of blue spot front calipers of an xjr 1300 for my 94 RU.... & they dont seem to line up.. the bottom pot is hitting the bottom of the forkleg .. it seems t need a bit cut out of it.. is this normal?

some of the RU models need a small scallop taking out the bit between the bolts
