No spark 1990 1000R

I've tried everything but I still have no spark! Coils are OK battery checked everything according to the service manual I've even got a local bike mechanic in and still drawn a blank! I'm on my second ecru, fuel pump, all fuses and relays including the earth. I'm at my wits end! Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Does it have an alarm/immobiliser fitted, Do you have power to the coils?

Is it turning over on the starter

Faulty kill switch/side stand cut out?

I had the opposite... I couldn't turn mine off. It would run even with no ignition switch connected. In the block connector behind the head stock, two of the terminals had melted together to make a circuit

No alarm or immobiliser, power at the coils, starter turns over, kill switch, stand cut off all ok.

Faulty pick up sensor not telling the CDI to send a spark to the coils?

I know you may have already done this, have you check all the fuses,
As I have known fuses to look ok, but not work properly.

Don't think it turns over for either of those issues. I seem to remember just the oil light flashing as you press the starter button .... of course I'll stand corrected

This must be the problem I'm having then, as mine won't start, and the oil light just flashes! New switch or repaiable Stig??

Switch can be stripped and cleaned as it'll be a 2 point contact... on or off. Just to either make or break a circuit

I'd also check wire continuity to and from the switch

When you're checking wires, test the same wire not only against itself but also the others in the same sleeve. This will establish if the wire is short circuiting with others. Only ones that should give a reading is the earth as it's a common

My head is pickled her Nuggitt. One minute it starts off the button, then the next it won't do anything! Bleeding thing was sound when I started it up last week

Your not by yourself mate. I've just upgraded my computer from using windows xp to windows 10. I'm losing the will to live. I hope it grows wings soon because it going to fly through the window. Effin thing

Leads me to believe it's either a faulty sensor or wire that changes the resistance and therefore signal

I have a spare loom that's known to be good. I use it to test but the last person still has it
