Does anyone know the shape , size and length , of the tool required to lock
the the fork inner nut whilst undoing the outer cap head screw at
bottom of the fork leg ???????

I've welded a 30mm nut to an old half inch drive socket. The 30mm nut fits the bit in side the fork. I add two extension bars on to it. I then bolt it in the vice and undo the bottom nut with a large Allen key. If you can wait till tomorrow I'll post a photo up to show it.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
