There's a few posts in the workshop section about carb issues. All the carbs are interchangeable from 89-95

That doesnt sound good....you sure its not rust from the tank??
Has she been stood a while with old fuel in the system..
If you rotate your fuel filter 180 degrees and check the underside, where fuel has been sat, if theres rust in your system you will have a visible tide line and discolouration of the filter. A good sign she's been sitting around for a while.
