New member saying hello / Email address question

Post by Timmyboybunter »

Hi folks,

New to the forum, thought I'd say hello.

I've just bought a cheap-ish and cheerful-ish 1999 Thunderace a couple of weeks ago. It's had 12 owners so someone here may know it :)

I've owned a few bikes since getting my licence a few years ago: Honda Varadero 125, Suzuki Bandit 650, Honda CBR-600F, BMW K1300s - and recently a Kawasaki ER6F which needed rescuing and have now been riding for around a year, so it's nice to be back on something with a bit of power.

Managed a couple of dull commutes to work, plus a 100 mile ride from Bristol to Wales and back over the weekend and its a lovely thing considering age and mileage - hopefully won't turn into a money pit, I do have a small issue but I'll post in the technical area.

Quick question - I'm assuming the board doesn't allow use of free email addresses such as Hotmail or gmail etc. as if I try to update my current address I get a 'banned' message. I used my work email address to sign up, but would like to get topic reply notifications etc. to my gmail address. Is this restriction something that can be changed now I'm a verified member?

Thanks, Tim.

Welcome to the dark side

The wide ones are fairly bullet proof. Keep the Exup valve serviced regular and there isn't too much to worry about

If you want to PM me the gmail address you wish to use I'll amend your profile for you

Thanks for the replies, to both my posts :)

(will upload a pic later this eve)

The previous owner fitted a new stainless steel exhaust so no Exup servicing required - seems to be running fine with the new system but then I've got no 'before' to compare with, could probably do with a proper setup I imagine.

Will PM you shortly, thanks again.

Welcome to the nut house Tim.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
