+1
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

If it's fightered or the engines being painted too it'll help draw the attention away from that casting

As you say? It's personal choice

Can anyone offer any guidance on the best spray to do the mounts on the frame cheers :)

Will halfords own do the job? Or I noticed hammerite do a range of sprays ? What else is there?

Be time to spray the engine soon. Halfords VHF spray will do the job for that too won't it ?!

Thanks again

Think I would get the plate off if I didn't want to add a steering damper and put some Carbon frame covers on to hide hole.
Or you could get them Tig welded.

Hey Des, I seen that post what popped up then removed
I did want it off originally, but I have thought of getting steering damper and now if that plates on for that purpose.
Plus iv sprayed a few bits today and pleased with the finish so I think il keep it now.

Managed abit more today, literally little fairy steps with this project but it's coming along.. decided to give it a spray and I'm going to buy a steering dampner towards the end ..

Frames looking abit dull now tho so needs another going over with the polish but il save that until the engine is in and almost done now ..

Also treated myself to a new rear shock from a ZZR1400 last week. I want to get it and a few other bits Powder blasted, so soon as the engine is done I can get the frame and swing arm put back together.

Solicitors bills are putting a proper dampner on my project now tho so this could be my last proper bit of progress for a while :(

Hey All how's everyone ?? Iv made a small start to spraying some engine parts and I have 1 question please ..

Image
Image

Iv sprayed some parts with VHT spray for engine and reading the can it says about curing.

Is that an absolutely necessary part?
My engine is currently in bits and so I can't do the curing using the heat from the engine.
I could put small parts in an oven but it's not practical with the bigger parts ... or when the missis is about .. :/

The curing could obviously be done when I put the engine back together and start the rebuild ..
However I won't be at that stage for a few more months .. will the spray degrade at all or will it last and be ok ??

Many thanks :)
