Finally something to report.
Life's been more than hectic recently but iv managed a few hours on my swingarm

It does need a bit more work but I'm well happy with it.
Going to start the frame soon then ul need to start reading up on techniques for spraying the engine

Iv tried to go over the swing arm again this morning in the hope it would look better..
However the blemishes or whatever they are aren't budging ..
Are they from me doing a poor job at a previous step or will abut more elbow grease see it right ??

Was looking at the rear master cylinder yesterday and when I took the rubber cap of it looked like this

That normal? The circlip is completely caked in rust.
Is it worth taking apart in an effort to rebuild it or would I just be best buying a new one?

That should clean out with a good soak in some degreasing fluid. Take the black cover off marked with an arrow. There's two or three holes in there make sure they're clean because the fluid wont return properly and the pads will bind on the disc. You can buy a new master cylinder kit off ebay for little money.

Nice one thanks nuggitt. Il get it sorted at the weekend, I seen the rebuild kits for about 15quid so that's alright.

I was going to do caliper on Saturday, its in need of a good clean and change pistons but the 2 bolts are well seized on caliper and the bracket bolts are well rounded

so have to wait til next week when I got some time off.

If the heads are rounded, take thelotoff and clamp the head in a large vice, then rotate the caliper around the bolt.

I was thinking I need to get myself a vice to sort it.
I didn't think of doing it that way tho .. Thanks for the tip:)
Iv been eyeing up an old vice at work for a few weeks now. Will have to borrow it..

Hey all just wondering if anyone can tell me what the little plate thing is, above and to the left of the engine mounts ...

I tried to get it of but the only bolts that will budge are the ones that aren't connected to anything .. so I thought I'd just leave it but upon polishing that side of the frame the mop just can't get close enough and it looks abit of a mess .. :/
Does it have a purpose ? Nothing was connected to it when I got the bike ?? I dunno if I should try get it off with a chisel and abit of persuasion or just leave it and give it abit of colour??

Also the engine mounts, iv been thinking of spraying them black. In my mind it will look good altho a few people have said otherwise ??
Any thoughts? ?
