Thunderace downpipes

Post by jatexup »

Hi,

Anyone have or know of where there may be any decent downpipes for sale, as as a friend of mine needs to replace the rotted ones on his bike. Thanks.

You need to see our stig on here. He usually has some hanging about his man cave.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

Hi, don't have a set for the ace at present but have a set for Fzr that'll fit if the ace rad is spaced forward slightly

http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/151937323082

There's also a set on eBay.de

Sorry about that. I think I need an eye test. I never noticed it was for a thunderace. Must try harder.

The fzr ones fit fine and have the advantage of stainless headers rather than the aces mild steel ones. Also the end cans for the fzr are a slip on rather than bolt on so you get a much bigger selection of end cans available. I have a set ready to go on my ace after I have sorted out the exup valve.

I bought a set of Delkevic pipes a few years ago and while they retained the exup valve they were mild steels same as oem and not stainless. The only stainless pipes as far as I kmow are made by Sandys Spares and do not retain the exup valve.

Fzr front pipes are stainless as far as the Exup housing, from there they are cast steel with mild steel outlet pipe
