My 1st project. .
Finally got round to getting the engine out
Now to get all the old paint of and resprayed and polish the frame up. Gonna buy the restoration kit from perfect polish some time soon.
Only bad thing is, I got the engine out with only a small amount of swearing I was pleased how easy it came out. How ever when I was moving the frame the engine took a tumble. Visually it didn't affect it at all ... was only a little bump so should be alright .... shouldn't it ??? :/ ha

you have removed the 2 bolts that hold the water pump to the engine, now its just a case of removing the alternator and then the pump-to-block metal pipe then you can pull the water pump off...from memory you cant remove it without removing the alternator first.
as for the valves, looks like rust from the steel valves, if its been stood a long time its probably condensation, but best remove the cylinder head if you want to be sure, you will need a long length 6mm allen socket dive to remove the cylinder head and a decent valve spring remover if you want to clean up the valves.

ok the front of the pump is off already, ok, just give it a few knocks with a rubber mallet and try and pry the thing gently forwards as you do it, the rubber seal is quite a tight fit.

Excellent thank you banner I'm at work now so won't get to try until the weekend but il get it sorted then. I did try giving it a few gentle knocks but didn't want to hit to hard. It was really annoying me cos I could see it wasn't connected to owt but it wouldnt budge!! Lol
And as for the valves again, il leave them for now and give them a clean before I respray the engine.
Thanks again

That gold cylinder in the first picture is your oil level switch. The little bit in the palm of your hand I'm not sure what that is. As for the thing on the cylinder block. I'll have to look it up when I can. I'm in the middle of tiling my kitchen at the moment. Oh what fun we're having. Lol
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
