Exup valve servo unit

The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

Exup valve servo unit

Post by RobJPS »

I have a FZR1000 ru 1995 as a winter project,it needs alot of tlc.

I finally had a chance to look at the servo unit today and its not working as it should,as in there is no movement.I could feel it was trying to move so opened it up and the plastic cogs inside all looked ok and moved when ignition is turned on but put it back together and nothing? maybe its just warn and needs replacing?

Can these be repaired or would it be easier to just get another?

Can anyone recommend who to try please.

Cheers

Rob

How were you testing it?

with ignition OFF rotate pulley by hand until it stops. Turn power on and it should self centre. if it does its OK and good to go

It did'nt rotate it felt stuck but you could feel it was trying to move, then when I had a look inside I dont think the cogs are lined up properly?
