Where is everyone for this question ... this is another on my never ending list of things to do with the ExUp !! Lol

From what I have read it's a massive amount of tinkering to get right ...

I believe Tim (YAMAEXUP) has pods on his. Not sure what brand of what jetting he's running but I bet he's willing to advise

i have pod filters on mine, the only way i could get it right was by going down the dynojet route

stage 1.....pod filters with standard end can

stage 2...pod filters with aftermaket end can

stage 3 ....pod filters with valveless exhaust ie sandys or black widow headers

still need a bit of tinkering but its worth the hassle,,,even better if youve got access to a rolling dyno

just my two penneth

i may be corrected but i believe im correct

I have indeedy got two K&N filter pods fitted to my Exup-R

The carbs are fitted with a Stage 3 Dynojet kit with the bigger main jets from the selection & tuned the midrange with the needle clips. So long as you follow the enclosed instructions you can't go wrong. The fiddliest bit is fitting the air jet blanking plugs. If you get this wrong your engine will eat them

YamaExup have you used the standard headers or like Robbo suggested had to use aftermarket headers?

Yup, standard down pipes & a slightly restrictive Motad silencer. I have a Scorpian noisey end pipe but as I take Mrs.YAMAEXUP out on the back of the FZR-R I can't use the noisey bit. It does run slightly rich so i've yet to finalise the optimum jetting, but the roll-on power from any revs after 3,000 is really strong & quite often I can run the engine in 5th gear & roll on the throttle & it just picks up & goes like stink :unibrow:
