Cylinder Inlet Valves

The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

Cylinder Inlet Valves

Post by DaddyA »

Afternoon all,

After a mishap (?) with the cam tensioner deciding it didn't want to be where it should be, it looks like I may need some new inlet valves!

I took the head off to check it out, no contact damage but the valves look to be being pulled into the head. Explain why I've done clearances so often.

Anyway is it the dealer all the way or is there an aftermarket equivalent you nice chaps could recommend?

Failing that or it's too expensive - anyone got a decent YZF750 head they don't want? I have the FZR1000 but I'd rather leave that in the bike.

Cheers in advance. :D

Evening all,

Decided to invest in some new valves and picked them up today.

Hopefully this will sort my head out for a while. Going get the head skimmed a smidge, and hot washed. New seals, cam chain and gaskets and the job should be a good un?

If anyone else is looking for valves, may I suggest buying from the US - saved a small fortune.
