Whats the steel ring and the slightly smaller clutch plate for ? and can you just fit a normal plate in its place.just asking because there isnt a steel ring and smaller plate in my 89 r model 3gm clutch assembly.

its called a Judder spring, its job is to make transitioning the clutch from on to off more "smooth"...but in practice what it usually does is break and take 1-4 friction plates with it...
replace it with a normal clutch friction plate.

Is it possible to add the plates needed from my clutch plates to a new set.
