The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

Don't know its purpose but from other earlier posts it is possible to substitute it for a full size item

its called a Judder spring, its job is to make transitioning the clutch from on to off more "smooth"...but in practice what it usually does is break and take 1-4 friction plates with it...

replace it with a normal clutch friction plate.

And it's not the broken plates that are the issue.
Plate cost is negligible.

The basket fingers are weak to start with, the broken pieces jam in the fingers which burst off and further broken parts migrate into the sump and then the oil pick up gauze.

Is it possible to add the plates needed from my clutch plates to a new set.
Or do I have to buy 2 new sets to get all needed
Only those who have been insane can prove there not insane! Can you ??? :-)

Not ideal but if they are within spec. I cannot see why not.
