help needed

Post by marlon »

Hi all,I need help in determining bearing size for my crank.
I'm using the crank from one engine and then using a different set of casings. I see the casings have a code stamped upside down at the back and I also see the code stamped on the crank. I have no idea how these codes identify what size bearings to buy. Can anybody please help and explain how to identify bearing sizes?
Turbo's are for guys who can't build engines! Lol

I can't remember exactly where I've seen the chart before for this that matches the numbers on the crank to the numbers on the crank casing. I think it might be in the Haynes manual, you end up with a colour code for the shell bearing needed for each bearing area. I'm not near my manual at the minute to check for you.

Go to the main site on here and down load the FZR1000_1989_SERVICE_MANUAL and got to page 4-42, it'll explain colour coding
