Another Newbie

Post by Steph »

Hi,

Glad I have finally found a group of people who are as nuts about the FZR as I am. I wanted one when they first came out but could never afford one as a teenager and over the years I always said how I would like one but never got around to it, so when my husband asked me what I wanted for my 40th birthday I knew straight away.

This is my pride and joy

I hate the yellow dunlop tape around the fairing, but after 5 years of owning the bike I still have not plucked up courage to peel it off and see what it is hiding! I didn't do much riding last year as a car smash resulted in me needing 3 screws in my right shoulder, only just started getting the full range of movement back too and it has knocked my confidence a bit too I admit, but I am hoping that by next spring I will be back out on the roads more.

I am also debating whether to attempt rebuilding the little CM125 that I have owned for 29 years so I can use it to commute to uni and back as it's going to be a lot cheaper in fuel than the FZR or the kia "bus".

The saga chapter tend to be more in the north and hang around Scarboro, Whitby and I think its Seaways Cafe?

We also have a few meetings in Matlock and Lincoln

Hello and welcome in Steph.

I'm one of the old foggie's from the saga chapter in East Yorks. Blimey I wish my wife would buy me a bike for one of my birthdays. All I get is a tin of Lynx body spray and despite what the advert says it doesn't work for me.

Lets hope you're in our neck of the woods. Like stig says there's a good bunch of us get together when we can for a cuppa and a laugh, and yes stig it is the Seaways Cafe at Fridaythorpe. We normally have a meet up in Lincoln in September. I'm wondering if we are all up for it if I put it up in the meets and rides out section???

Nice sexy looking bike by the way especially covered in soap suds.

Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

PS. I still think that the FZR-R is the best looking of the lot
