new nose cone and side panels on ebay
there's a another nose cone and side panels on ebay, number 321498256101. This has the indicators on the nose cone itself. I've not seen that before and wondered if it had been added by the owner at a later stage and not put there originally by Yamaha. Would I be wrong in thinking that the 89 Fzr 1000 had the indicators attached to the fairing just below the nose cone on the side panels and the 1990 Fzr 1000 had them on the rubber stalks sticking out from the fairing. Or maybe it was just imports that had the indicators attached to the fairing.

The fairing in the ebay link is a aftermarket pattern fibreglass unit.
The indicators fitted to it are cheap plastic carbon copy pattern units.
The flush fitting indicators in the linked pic have been put on by the owner and replaced the stalk type.
This is the flush fitting type fitted to some Fzrs;

The pic is to show the type of flush fitting Yamaha use, as in they use NO other on the FZR models; early (89) 3HE 600s also had them
It is a FZR; the very first motorcycle to use the Exup system.(1987)
You can see the decal on the tail piece.
The false ram air tubes were first introduced in 1988 on the 400s;
3EN1.
Exup history started with the Sp 2TK (pictured) and then the 3EN1 and 3EN2 before being allocated to the 1000 unit.
Californian Fzr 600 3HE also had the system fitted very early in 89 for emission compliance
