Gold wheels restore

Post by Realitybites »

When I finally got my FZR the wheels had been hand painted. I sent the rear away for restore and it just came back. Stripped, bead blasted, all road rash removed, epoxy coated and finally painted and clearcoated. I swapped out the bearings, the disk was ok so I repainted the center and the stainless bolts are from the Uk per Stig and Nuggit recommendations. The photo doesn't do it justice, it is really beautiful!

It does, it makes the front look like complete crap! Hey Stig, what did you torque the stainless bolts at?

I don't have a manual so I'm flying blind. I'm thinking 20nm sounds about right?

That's how a wheel should look.

I've just popped in to the garage and yes 20nm will do you.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
