fitted cbr900 coils to my R model...no problems, i cant really compare it against stock as i never ran the bike with the stock coil packs.

there are plenty of guides and wiring diagrams on here.

Hello Hudders.

Dan one of our members and somebody else on the fzr1000 site fitted some stick coils to their RU's. This is all can find of the write up.

I'll go and have another search just incase I missed it first time.

I've had another look Hudders and this is all I can find about it. Unfortunately Dan left the forum and a couple of photos have disappeared. :(

Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

thats all i did, i put a 4-pin connector on the end of my coil wiring, and then put another 4-pin connector on my loom, no way to connect them to the bike incorrectly then.

although if you want to keep the standard 2-pin connectors replace them with new ones, one pair black, one pair white...cant get confused that way then.

I recently fitted COP to my '89 EXUP (not RU) bike runs so much more smoothly now, even runs in the wet which is why I changed it. I used CBR600 COPs.

I have stick coils on my fazer 1000, I can't compare properly to the originals as one of my coils had a corroded pin which caused a misfire at low revs, since fitting the stick coils the misfire has gone but other than that everything feels the same.
