Anyone know a good paintshop?

Post by Teego »

After a great day out in Lincolnshire I stopped for a burger at Swanwick services. This guy reversed into my parked bike so I'm looking for lots of parts plus someone to fix my fairing and tail panel.
So, if anyone knows a good paintshop in Derbyshire it could be helpful.

He was good enough to admit liability and swap details but would like to settle without the insurers. I have some full list insurance prices for repairs and they are megabux. So somewhere in the middle he could save some money and I would have a bit left over. Otherwise over to the insurers and my bike will be restored to mint.

Depending on age of bike they may just write it off, mates thunderace got knocked over in same scenario and that was written off his was only a three year old bike at the time.

That's really cheered me up! It's a 2005 GSXR750XK5 Anniversary Edition.
Anyway, just about to email the prices to him.

Paint shop

Years ago I dropped my FZR on a roundabout. Sent the right fairing panel away to dream machine and it came back better than the original. Later I sent off all parts of a GS750 and had it custom painted by them, same result, brilliant. They're still in business so they must be doing something right.

Good tip, Nick. I'm only 3 miles from there. Problem is my bike is 150 miles away in Surrey with the insurers claim management company. 7 weeks bikeless and counting.
