Fork question

Post by murrukr1 »

Ok
I bought a set of 1989 exup 1000 forks to stick on my bike while I have mine re chromed , the adjusters are different as mine is a 1991 last of the rwu forks. My question is are the stanchions the same in which case I can send off the earlier ones and rebuild with the later internals.

It's a good idea to insert the stepped preload fork caps in place for while the fork legs are in transit. I sent off my forks for rechroming & when I got them back there was a flat on one edge of one fork leg...as though it had been dropped from a height & dinked it. With a cap in place this wouldn't have happened.
