OEM loom connectors
OEM loom connectors
Hi guys. Do you know if i can buy oem loom connectors from a dealer? I cant see any on parts diagrams...might look later on ebay. Someone must have broke one or had a damaged one. Is the only solution a new loom? More specifically while de-wiring my bike ive managed to cut a wire for.the relay box that i didnt.mean to...and ive clipped it right at the base like an idiot...

its a '89 unfortunatly, unless the relay is the same, its an 11-pin block, im gonna ring the dealer today, but i think it will be a no...
failing that, how on earth can you get the pins out of the connector block?

fixed it now.
not ideal, but what im gonna do (so it can all be brand new) is to fit single brass female connectors to the relay and then wire them (in order) to a pair of 6-connectors so it will basically look like the original, then wrap the relay up in loads of electrical tape...its all gonna go under the seat in the end anyway.

basically, i dont see the point of me doing a full re-wire, to then use the old corroded connectors from my old loom, so ill probably do all the connections as above.
it will be fine, but will be a bit of a ballache if i need to change an electrical component...but never mind, ill sort that out when i come to it

A few years ago I got some connectors from here
http://www.sgmotorsport.co.uk/
Better than using individual bullet connectors and keeps it looking fairly original

Hi Chris,Could do with some wiring connector blocks/plugs for the front end to connect clocks, indicators, head lights quite a bit of the top end, if you don't end up getting rid I'll have the lot off you if you wouldn't mind, let me know Chris and how much you would like.creedxup wrote:The relay and that part of the loom are the same as the RU one,,you can have that bit if you want ?
Cheers Dave

The link I put on earlier has different colours with different amounts of pins in each block ranging from 2 pin up to 9 I think.banner001 wrote:thats where ive been buying all my wire for the new loom, ill buy most of my connectors from there as well - only problem is they only do multiconnectors in white, and i need a few other colours.
