Divorce.

Post by creedxup »

We may be coming to an amicable parting, with me giving her loads of money.

i.e I take out another mortgage, but I keep the house, my son and the cat 😃

Does that sound OK ?

sorry to hear its come to that. If you CAN do it amicably then do so. It'll save on the solicitors fees and if theres kids involved, its alot better for them if their parents aren't at each others throats and bad mouthing each other all the time

Good luck mate. Hope things work out OK

Yes that's the best way to go Chris. I'm sorry to hear it though, but these things do happen. Good luck mate and keep your chin up. It does come right in the end.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

+1

i was 15 and my sister was 13 when my parents decided to get divorced after fighting with each other for the past 5 years, i had to look after my sister through it all and it was not easy.

a separation is always difficult, but if you drag it on, all you do is prolong the suffering.

that's sounds good to me if you can keep all that Creed. It does all come right in the end, tough, never the less. Change is nearly always good. Be patient and calm is the best thing I've learnt. Best of luck. :)

I think if you come out with anything these days you have done well...the women have so much of the law on their side these days its unreal.

I hope you end up in a happier position when the dust settles.

Bad news, but four thoughts:
1. Are you both sure divorce is the thing? What about informal separation and in 3 or 4 years you may rediscover each other?
2. Do keep it friendly and don't let a lawyer drive a wedge between you. Just because its not working doesn't mean you have to be enemies.
3. If it comes to it and you do pay her, make sure its a one-off full and final settlement.
4. If it comes to 3, make sure she takes the cat. RSPCA are full up.
All the best.
Keep on keepin' on.

And if you have a good pension try and get her to leave it alone, get this in writing by a solicitor.

Divorce is one he*l of a crappy situation.

I got divorced last fall (now living in a rented place) and lost a house. My FZR, all the tools and RD350 parts are still in my ex garage in that house I gave to my ex wife.

I gave her the other of my cars (better one of course) as well to get going and all that sh*te.

I gave everything for free because of my 6 and 8 year sons (well now 7 and 9)..

Now I don't have any place for my 2 bikes, all the spare parts, tools and I'm driving a cra*py car living in a rented place.

Well....don't have a mortgage anymore so that is a bit of a relief but still I lost pretty much everything. Or it might be better to say that I gave everything I have ever owned. For free.

What did I get?

Quite simple answer: I got freedom.

(Not to mention that nowadays I have a girlfriend that is waaaaaaaay better than my ex ever was.)

:D

Divorce is not the end of the wolrd. You just have to start pretty much everything from the scracth.

Sometimes this sucks. But mans gotta do what mans gotta do.

Feel for you mate, been there done that!
One thing I do know is that as soon as solicitors & money get involved the word 'amicable' will be distant past.
Hope it all works out for the best Chris.
