intercooler fabrication
Been doing a bit more fabrication to one of my mates hayabusa drag bike thats already doing a quarter mile in 7.3 sec, he tells me he needs to cool the air down as we all know the colder the air the more we can ram in and the faser we go , and before you say god damm them badboys look ugly... yes they do but it aint all about looks when your winning races,
So heres a few selected pics i took.
Ill let you all know how much faster it makes it go in spring time.
This is it before i started
pipe from turbo housing being split to go to both coolers
pipe with wiggins clip ends welded on
pipe on turbo housing
pipes welded on that go to bottom of intercoolers
pipe joining bottom of coolers up running across front wheel
And without boring you all pics of the whole kit followed by the kit on the bike ready for a run...
yes DDE stands for DangerousDavesEngineering, gotta put ya stamp on it hey
and now on bike
pipe from plennem chamber down to top of coolers.
sticking out of the side a bit out eh
made a few parts on this mother
and some other parts ive made before in the past for it...
1st fuel tank.
fuel tank no2..
little tank for water injection
front faring frame to hold battery and motec..
I know it wastnt an exup but hope you still enjoyed the pics

Re: intercooler fabrication
This must make filtering in traffic a nightmare.
Nice welding Dave.
I can't see that the increase in power from the cooler air will overcome the increase in drag from the wider intercooler.
Those purple couplings look like the Boeing water/waste system ones.

Cheers for the comments lads , yeah I've even said it will probably take off or at least start lifting, but apparently it with cool the air by half and he will be able to turn the boost down to around 15 / 16 as its running well over 20 at over 600 brake the mo, so less strain on the motor , time will tell eh, ill keep you updated when he does a few runs .

Is it just me or does Dangerous bear a striking resemblance to Cal Crutchlow?dangerousdave wrote:
