Arc,,
I though about a hugger, when I was looking there weren't many available

Even thought about making one in fiberglass from a mould (could mass produce 'em)

think NWS??? or something like that do GRP ones...
the only 'official one' that i've seen ...to me looked very bulky due to the chain guard being incorporated in the hugger (sorry folks if you've got one)

I contacted ART (exhaust people...around the corner from me) who said that they had thought about producing one when the EXUP first came out...BUT

BIG BUT...the clearance was ....lefts say tight ...around some of the other fittings in that area...

so there you go

As for the chain gusrd...I fancied making one from stainless steel (polished of course)...but very short!!!!

I know they're needed for an official MOT...but is there a specific length or area that has to be covered..?????????? needs checkin' out!!!

So 1 polished chainguard 6" long made from polished stainless

mass produced of course and sold with a small profit on Evilbay

looks like I'm gonna be busy over winter AGAIN

Eh? You need chain guard for the MOT? That wasn't mentioned when I had my last MOT mate.

I may be wrong, but I think you only need a chain guard if you've a pillion seat and pillion pegs for the MOT

Aha, that could be how I got away with it then Vagabond, as I always keep mine set up with the single seat config.
Nothing to do with keeping wor lass of the thing honest. . . Oh bloody hell, she's gonna read that ain't she? :paranoid:

Hey there Jon,

Took a picture, sort of, from the angle you suggested. Looks like you were right, again, mate. I'm guessing the black plastic flap hanging down is what you were on about.
Wor lass was just telling me about a thing you can get called a 'Crap Flap' you heard of anything like that? From the sounds of it it just fixes to the original bit and hangs down to cover all the bits that need protecting.

Cool, thanks Si,

Not to sure about the rather clumsy chain guard though, no offence mate.

'Ang on, how come your bolts fit horizontaly? Mine go in verticaly. I know you're is an RU and mine's an R but I thought the swingers were the same? Confozled.

Simple m8, couple of brackets on the inside

to be honest, I'm not sure about it, it is clumsy in the way it looks, but it does the job, suppose the 'talented' could chop it about a bit to make it look a bit better.....

I'm interested to seee what the yzf750 swinger and hugger looks like in comparison - my next mod
