Onwards, ever onwards,
Got hold of some pop rivets so finished making the electrical shield
should keep the connections drier and cleaner than they were.
This done I set about mounting the Acewell speedo.
unfortunately the standard bracket meant that the speedo would be too upright so it needed adjusting, this required removing it, which in turn meant dismantling the connector blocks.
that done a temporary bracket was made so I only have to bend the decent one once!
Got it set up at an angle that I was happy with and just as I was about to bend the decent bracket I thought I'd better power up the console.
Glad I did as the numbers (LCD display) were not very clear to see
These photos are taken from the riding position view, its not very clear to see but the numbers are dull like when the batteries are running out on your digital wristwatch.
so I adjusted it until they became clearer
The problem with this being that the side view of the speedo went fom this
to this
But after trying a few options of how else it could be mounted
I decided if the headlight was dropped a touch it looked better.
so off came the top yoke to drill and tap it ready for the newly adjusted decent mounting bracket.
Don't look too bad.
thats a little more done, just need to wire it into the rest of the "loom of doom"
