Metal shielding is fine mate...Just as good as rubber.

Right then, now that the engine is back in, i set about re-installing the lower engine frames, complete with new shiny bolts!!

Anyway next after this was the exhaust, which will need a support made and is in serious need of shortening, but that can wait til after she's running.

Then put the Rad back on and filled her up just waiting to see if she leaks!!

The previous owner has welded some extra take-offs onto the rad to allow the oil filter housing to be plumbed in.

The joints didn't leak as far as I knew but they were covered with metal putty that had started to peel off, so I removed it to aid inspection.

Looks OK, but we'll see what happens once it gets some heat and pressure in it!!

So with the radiator on and filled, this is where she sits now.

And there is room for adjustment on the lock stops as well. :D
This is it on the lockstop, with ample room between rad and fork, so a little more can come off yet!

I see what you mean about that exhaust can. :eek: Its a long bugger and it's crying out to meet Mr Hacksaw. :D

You've got some nice lines going on there mate. :thumbsup:

It was mentioned in the dim and distant past or page 5 to be more accurate.

I cant remember what I did yesterday, let alone what someone else posted in their thread a year ago :lol: :lol: :lol:

Right then this is what I've been upto.

well I managed to find someone on Ebay that sells replacement pegs and will spin me up some spacers as the ones he sells has a shorter spigot, so I'm just waiting on them to arrive.

In the meantime I turned my attention to the headlight.

As you know I have a GSXR K5 headlight waiting to go on along with the Gpz clocks

However with them on together the front end looks a little ramshackled and you cant see the outline of the lense, so I thought I might be able to define it better with a bikini style fairing made from a cut down GSXR fairing

Obviously it needs to be trimmed down, but I dont think its as easy as it sounds and I will have to make panels up to get the lines I want, which means messy fibreglass.

So I opted for a different approach and picked these up.

Then tried to sort out the right look!!

Im not happy about the space between the clocks and the light, but the only way to resolve that is to re-locate the ignition switch and remove the mounts from the top yoke!!!!

Gixxer headlight is good (and paid for). Problem is the clocks. Need some sort of digital dash. Now, if you could mod an SP1 dash that would be cool.
