Fangs "new" toy!!
Right then
The bits I have been waiting for turned up in the post today, so I set about doing some work for a couple of hours this afternoon.
Got the oil cooler bypass pipe plumbed up, soldered and sprayed, looks neater than I expected, which is good, just hope it doesn't leak!!!
Refitted the sump with new gasket, then set about replacing the bolts on the engine that were awkward to get to when she was on her back ( oo er), which took a lot longer than anticipated.
So hopefully the next update will be of the engine back in the frame!!

Never Ever Bloody Anything Ever!!!
So, got home from work yesterday and set about Lisa's fork seals.
The left hand leg (the one that was leaking) was a right bastard to dismantle.
The bush at the bottom of the fork slider was jamming inside the bush at the top of the leg, instead of hammering it out, (you know, the one immediatly below the seal/washer that impacts against them when using the slide hammer technique)
So as a result it took 2 hours to dismantle one leg!!
Any how by the time they were back together it was too late to spray them.
So as I was waiting for wheel bearings to arrive I hoped they would be here today so I could install them and paint both the wheel and fork legs today.
No delivery upon return from work.....Arse, bloody Royal Mail
So I sprayed Lisa's fork legs and put her Hornet back together
Then made up my vacuum take off extension hoses and fitted them.
And seeing as I cant fit the engine till the front wheels back in, investigated why there is so much play in my "Harris" rearsets
Turns out to be excessive wear around the spigot that the gear lever pivots on, have looked on Fleabay and there are people that do replacements pegs but they are shorter overall and although the spigot is the same diameter it is 6mm shorter than needed.
Might try emailing them to see if they have anything else.
Lets hope the bearings arrive tomorrow then I can get a bit more room in the garage once the engine is off the workmate.

I balanced my carbs today, they were a tiny bit out. I only needed to move the exup servo out of the way as its in a pain on the RU.
I use a little piece of rubber tube as an extension to get the adaptors screwed in as a couple of them are under the thermostat housing and are a pig.

Wheel bearings didn't arrive today, but I decided to paint the wheel anyway.
At least it'll be dry by tomorrow and I can do a bit more before easter weekend ( banned from the garage for the duration!!)
Also got the engine off the workmate ready for fitment.
Thats all, short and sweet update.

I know I said I was banned from the garage for the Easter weekend, but I managed to sneek a couple of hours in.
Even managed to rope Lisa into helping
Anyhow, Thursday the wheel bearings still hadn't arrived, so I thought I'd clean the clocks I had ready for install, and also see if I could get them apart so I can install LED idiot lights in them.
Got them apart, a bit grubby!!
Not sure about the Idiot lights yet, thinking about installing the LEDs on the speedo face, similar to the one's on my Exup.
Like this but using clear LED's (oil, nuetral, Fuel, High beam, indicators)
Or make something similar to this
So I put them back toghether, look better now there clean though!!
Anyway Today (Saturday) the wheel bearings eventually arrived.
Not too sure how effective the metal shielding is in comparison to the rubber shielded ones that I removed, but I'll keep an eye on them and replace at a later date if needed!!
So with the wheel re-assembled, speedo drive stripped and cleaned, discs attached, back in the bike she went.
With the engine sitting on its trolley I decided to push my luck and roped Lisa into giving me a hand getting the engine back in.
didn't take long, just a bit fiddly with the engine precariously balanced on a bit of wood whilst manouvering the trolley jack, all acomplished without mishap though
Even the oil cooler bypass pipe doesn't look too bad.
So now the engines in I can make a fair bit of progress without the need for outside assistance, happy days.
